Lake Management Plan
Introduction
In July 2004, Child, Girl and Woman Lake Association was invited to participate in the Initiative Foundation’s Healthy Lakes and Rivers Partnership program along with eight other lake associations in Cass and Crow Wing counties. Under the coordination of Bonnie Finnerty (Crow Wing County Local Water Planner and County Planning Administrator) and John Sumption (Cass County Water Planner and Deputy Director of Environmental Services), representatives attended two days of training on strategic planning, communication, and nonprofit group leadership.
Priorities, Goals and Plans
While doing study and research during the writing of this lake management plan four concerns emerged and were sited in the previous Summary and Conclusion section. The research and study centered around the 1988 Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Lake Assessment of the chain, the 2003 lake chain association survey of property owners and the Aug., 2004 Visioning Meeting held. Other data was also studied and reviewed. Below is the 2004 Lake Management Plan Document.
