Woman Lake

Woman Lake is a 5520 acre lake with a maximum depth of 67 feet located in Northern Cass County, about three miles west of Longville, Minnesota. It has 30.31 miles of lakeshore.  It is classified by the DNR as very large, deep, irregularly shaped with clear water. Woman Lake provides good to excellent fishing for many species of fish. Most anglers target Walleye, but yellow perch is the most commonly caught species. Other species found in Woman Lake are black crappie, largemouth bass, muskellunge, northern pike, rock bass, smallmouth bass, and sunfish.

       The following regulations are in place:
    • Northern Pike: All from 24-36″ must be immediately released. Possession limit three, only one over 36″.

Girl Lake

Girl Lake is a 428 acre lake near Longville, Minnesota. It has a maximum depth of 81 feet, but 2/3 of the lake is less than 15 feet. The lake contains black bullhead, black crappie, bluegill, brown bullhead, burbot, hybrid sunfish, largemouth bass, muskellunge, northern pike, northern sunfish, pumpkinseed, rock bass, smallmouth bass, tullibee (cisco), walleye, yellow bullhead, yellow perch, bowfin (dogfish), white sucker, banded killifish, blackchin shiner, blacknose shiner, bluntnose minnow, central mudminnow, common shiner, golden shiner, Iowa darter, Johnny darter,  and tadpole madtom.

       The following regulations are in place:

Little Woman

Little Woman formerly known as Squaw Lake or Squaw Bay connects Woman Lake and Child Lake. Game fish species caught in the trapnets include walleye, northern pike, bluegill, pumpkinseed, rock bass,largemouth bass and black crappie. Bluegill were caught at a rate that was comparable to Lake Class 37 lakes. These bluegill showed a wide range of lengths and good growth.  The maximum depth of the lake is 14 feet.

   The following regulations are in place:

Child Lake

Child Lake is an 285-acre lake located near Longville, MN that has 4.56 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth of 29 feet. There is a state owned user developed earthen public access on the south shore just off of County Road 5. Child Lake is classified as a regularly shaped hardwater lake. This lake is primarily managed for northern pike, bluegill, black crappie, and largemouth bass and secondarily for muskellunge, walleye, tullibee (cisco), and yellow perch. A 24- to 36-inch protected slot for northern pike was implemented in 2003. Other fish species that are available to anglers to catch are black bullhead, bowfin (dogfish), brown bullhead, pumpkinseed sunfish, rock bass, white sucker, and yellow bullhead.
